1980's COLT BLACK POWDER REPRODUCTIONS VALUES

Hey everyone..well now that Dad has the new to him Colt 357...his friends have been trying to sell their old guns to him..he has got a few new ones..but the newest ones offered to him have got me stumped...i know nothing about them..well they are the reissue 1980 Colt blackpowder...like the Colt Navy...Dragoon...will have to get more info and pics..but are they worth anything?..what do i need to look for?..all i know for sure is they are Colt i am told..any books out there?...any help would be awesome...

John - You need "Percussion Colt Revolvers - The Second Generation", a collector's handbook and price guide (#6) by Dennis Russell. This is a comprehensive book on the Colt percussion revolvers made in the 1970's and 1980's. It is available from Dennis Russsell at Jared Press, 3162 Johnson Ferry Road, Suite 260-607, Marietta, Georgia 30062. I have a phone number and e-mail address but I'm not sure if they are current. Dennis is a member here and maybe he will speak up with newer information. The book is great and covers everything you ever wanted to know about these interesting guns.
