Great report, thanks!
I hope you find a treasure today.
Well, I went to the Show to-day even though I was kinda sorta supposed to be Working, and, I had a wonderful time there.
As ever, the enormous array of downright spellbinding old Guns just took my breath away.
This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone interested to be able to see and even hold and examine closely, endless examples of 19th Century ( and on from there into the early to mid 20th Century when applicable ) Colts, Smith & Wessons, Remingtons, Merwin Hulberts and others, and, to see what minty and well preserved ones are like, and to see what those various makes and eras of original Blue were like, ranging from minty fresh to freckled to small highlights of Holster wear and all the way down from there too.
Far as it goes, this Show this time, seems to have quite a few good to good-enough deals to reward the persistent and observent Pilgrim, in the whole range of conditions of old Colts and others...I am seeing a lot of New Services, early Officer's Model 'Targets', Army Special .41 DAs in various Barrel lengths and conditions, and tons of old and early Government Models and 1911s.
One guy had a bunch of ols .45 ACP Magazines all casually stowed, and I counted maybe twenty Lanyard Loop ones ( some appearing to be NOS ) , some of which were the old Key Hole sort.
Too bad twaits had to head home from the Shot Show and miss this one, I know he'd have loved it.
Anyway, I will head back there tomorrow and keep looking...I only got about 1/3rd through it today, and that was exhausting. It is a lot of eye and mind strain to be looking critically over Table after Table, row after row, and trying to fan through many thousands of old Guns trying to see what all might be a candidate to bring home.
Wish me luck! On maybe coming home with something!![]()
There's a few I saw today which were trying to put their 'Tractor Beams' on me...

I remember the old days when it was the Sahara Antique Arms show and you’d see folks like Arnold Marcus Chernoff or Ron Ogan (I never cared for either, but they had some nice guns) and Mel Torme walking around. You’d occasionally see Marty Huber at the show too. I kind of miss the old days once and a while. I saw my first original Colt Gatling Gun at that show and bought a lot of nice Colts and Winchesters. I actually still have a 44-40 Model 1892 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine that I bought at one of the shows in the 80's; it was a late Sunday afternoon gun.![]()
