$80 in 1955 was worth $657s today. I just ran it on one of those sites that calculates money value in todays terms. Not much change really! I was working my guts out in those days in the fields for about 65 cents a hour. Late 50s $1 a hour in the cannerys for green giant with no OT pay or benneys, 1962 the wisconsin conservation dept started me at $320s a month! Worked for the national park service in 1960 and 1961 fighting fires etc for about $2 a hour. No, those guns were just as hard to buy and maybe harder for us back then! I got the shirt!!
Oh the good old days! My first full time job in 1959 paid $ 128.00 twice a month. Didnot buy many Colt's in those days...
