Prayers Up..
Gentlemen:
It is with deep regret and sadness that I inform you of the death of USMC Corporal Chris Bordoni from wounds sustained while on combat patrol in Afghanistan. His funeral was in Ithaca, NY on Thursday and I have attached a link to the local newspaper's coverage. http://www.theithacajournal.com/arti...ular|text|NEWS
I never met this young man; he was the nephew of a long-time friend of mine. I followed his teenage years, enlistment and service in the Marine Corps. Like many I suppose, the Marine Corps "grew him up". He became a fine young man, a wonderful husband in an all too short marriage of one year, a great son and an excellent soldier. As we say down South, "He done good."
Your prayers and thoughts for his family are much appreciated.
Thank you. John (BlackDog)
The nephew of a long-time, good friend of mine was seriously injured while on patrol in Afghanistan last Wednesday. A portion of her email describing the extent of his injuries is below. She has asked for everyone's prayers for this brave young Marine (age 22) and I'd respectfully ask you to pray for him, also. He was two weeks from completing his enlistment. The young man's parents and family are a wreck, but are doing as well as can be expected.
Thank you. John
"Christopher was on patrol in a marketplace in Afghanistan on Wednesday afternoon when a suicide bomber drove into the marketplace and blew himself up. Many people were killed, many families devistated. Christopher is still hanging on, but is in terribly bad condition. They had to take both of his legs, he's lost his right eye, he many lose his left arm, he has internal injuries that are too numerous to list and his burns are so severe that the doctors in Germany have said that even with as many cases as they've treated, his are the worst burns they've ever seen."

One died for your soul, the other for your freedom."
