Cool, how about some photos of the photos??
If you can find it. You'd have to sel a Colt to afford it probably. "Colts: From Texas And The Old West" by Jerry Hemphill. It's just a photo collection with extensive descriptions including serial numbers and shipping records of Colt SAA's used by Texas Rangers and South Western Lawmen. Half are factory engraved and were carried by these guys and used. Lots of guns used by copper mine guards and even dug up wrecks. The guns are from the 1870's to the 1920's. The photos are B&W and could be better, though. It cost $44 fifteen years ago when my wife got it for me for Christmas.

Thanks for the suggestion, just ordered a copy. You can't have too man books.
I've probably had my copy for 10+ years. It's a great picture book! What's the going rate for a copy now days?
I was looking around and I have found them running about $90 USED at Amazon. If anybody finds one cheaper, let me know I would like to pick one up.
I ordred one from Amazon, it was about $90 seller said it was like new & signed by he author. I will let you know when I get it. I read nothing but history books and any about the southwest.
I had a distant relative that was a Texas Ranger back in the 1880's but I doubt if he is in the book, I think he was one of the guys that was only a member for a very short time.
I haunt the used book stores around here and have tons of books, all non fiction. Mostly american west stuff. And why read science fiction when real science and physics is bizarre enough already. Being in Gold Rush country I also have a whole bunch of books on gold rush criminals and lawmen. This guy is my favorite author and "Gold Dust and Gunsmoke" is my favorite book. Each chapter deals with a different form of old west carnage. Duels, gunfighters, lawmen, vigilantism, etc.

Wyatt,
I agree completley, I only read history books as well. I jump around usually from my two favorite topics: The Constitution and the history of warefare. I just got back from my local used book store with two new ones. One is on Little Big Horn and the other is the first 100 yrs of the Texas Rangers, so I am mixing it up a little. I could not find your book any cheaper, I am just going to have to pony up and spend the money on it. I live only about an 1.5 hours away from Tombstone and Bisbee Arizona, I love to go down there and find interesting old items from long ago.
