that sounds like a fair price to this non-expert.
do the unmodified old models click 4 times like a colt?
i don't remember.
I dropped by a local pawn shop after work this evening. They have an OM Single Six 22LR, 5.5" barrel and factory wood grips. The gun is very nice other than a heavy cylinder bolt line and wear on the left muzzle end of the barrel. The wear spot is about 3/4" long and looks like a 'greater-than" symbol - wider at the muzzle and then tapering back. The gun has not been converted to a transfer bar safety. The gun would otherwise be a decent 95% - no grip frame wear, excellent grips and just a little edge wear here and there. The price is $259, plus tax (7.5%). But for the muzzle wear, I would have snatched it up, but I decided to think on it. Plus, there's a local gun show this weekend, so there's no telling what I might find. Sorry I don't have any pics. Thanks!

It would be a good deal in these parts.

I agree - I think that isn't a bad deal.

I'm torn. Almost every time I buy a gun that isn't a Colt, I wind up selling or trading it!![]()
that's about the going price

i have been collecting and shooting these old three screw rugers for years.. guns that are original and do not have the transfer bar are worth more...yes the older ones make the four clicks..all of mine are great shooters..in my opinion they are not as well made as say a colt .22 peacemaker but they are close and cost about half what the colt does.. that is a good price..
Pretty reasonable. i have a pr of the 50s vintage Sixes with black hard rubber Colt size xr3 grip frame. They are nice little shooters. Not Colts ,but better than anything else . i have one like yours ,but I bought it last year ,nib with 22 mag cylinder for around $450. So your gun is decent price for a shooter. You can't go wrong for that price. Cherrys Fine guns has one of the older ones in the same condition for around $100 more. I used to not like the newer Sixes , but I picked up a noncatalog blue fixed sight 4 5/8 with the post 73 action. Doesn't have the clicks but I like the sights better, looks more like a Scout.
Coincidentally I've recently been monitoring Ruger single six prices, and to this cheapskake it sounds reasonable.
That's a great price and on the low side. These OM Single Sixes are more desirable than ever and for good reason. These early SSs are excellent quality, don't have the novel stamped on the barrels, and hold there value. I wouldn't hesitate buying it, especially at that price.
