    Closing threds

I asked why the "Hollywood" thread was closed, and got no answer, rather, my thread asking the question was closed . . .

I have tried to be respectful, decent, gentle and honest in my few postings on this forum, have generated a rather high percentage of "likes", and yet the moderators have chosen to ignore what I feel was a perfectly reasonable request.

If I am not treated with the same respect I give others, I simply vote with my feet -- I can hit the "remove" and "delete" button as easily as the next person . . .

I would suggest sending a message to Mitch. He is guy sajer and one of the moderators.

I suspect it has something to do with how many times movies have been discussed here and often can stray from the topic of guns. And then a thread asking about it strays even farther. Don't take it too personally. The mods here are great people and do an excellent job of running the forum. Sometimes we may not agree with them 100% but we have to play by their rules. And they are very reasonable. I hope you stick around.

Ralph, my reference to "deleting" was referring to deleting unwanted sites from my list of regularly-visited forums.

I was under the impression that The Lounge was a site for posting non-gun related topics . . .

Nope, read the fine print underneath the section:

This area is for discussions on all other gun related talk. Please keep topics on firearms related issues

That's my 'take' as well. The Hollywood theme has been done to death and it is easily strayed from the longer the thread goes on. Time to talk about something else at this point.

    As you wish .
Respect is earned . Earned by showing respect to others . Continuing to challenge any forum's staff openly is not the best way to draw positive attention or respect . Suggest in the future if you wish to challenge or question my moderating decisions that you contact me via PM as suggested rather than disrupt / distract the other members who seem to be satisfied with the direction of Coltforum .
I also suggest you spend a little more time (than 30 days) to see what Coltforum is (and what it isn't) before judging me or the forum . Most of us belong to more than one gun forum . Those forums have catchall coffeeklatch subforums for discussing recipes , dog food , aftershave , whatever . We are about Colts here with a small mix of other gun topics . Can you discuss your S&W 642 or Ruger SBH ? Sure . Can you discuss buying tires for you kart , no .

If you decide to stay on , you'll discover I'm not a cynic or a moderator who enjoys projecting my ego / authority . You now have recorded another closed thread . You can decide if that's respectful .
