    Incorrect Seller Information

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but twice now sellers were either totally ignorant about a gun or made false misrepresentations. In both occasions, I was interested in a Colt Police Positive. One seller stated it was chambered in .38 Short Colt. The other stated it was in .38 Long Colt. Both times the gun was actually in .38 S&W.

In the first instance I even queried the seller and advised him I thought he was in error. He never answered. Both sellers were reputable according to the site ratings.

Makes you scratch your head and do further research before any purchases.

I have see a lot of confused listings when it comes to any of the various Police Positive Models, particularly those of the .38 S&W/NP kind.

Sellers often assume it is .38 Special, and may or may not be amenible to being given some informative info to correct their error.

Anyone, of whatever level of knowledge and experience with Guns, can sell a Gun on Gunbroker and other sites, and, this likely occasions many of the errors in description.

I would not assume any seller's listing info is ever 'correct' for any sort of Arm, it's condition, details etc.

Right now there is an Iver Johnson .32 Calibre Break Top I happened to look at on Gunbroker, and, the Seller has it listed as being .38

How hard is it to tell at the most casual glance, across a Room even, the Frame and Cylinder scale/ratio, of a .32 verses .38 Iver Johnson Break Top?

    Lol...

All part of the fun I think...
