Angry D.C. is stonewalling the supreme court on Heller vs D.C.

Nation's capital to pass new law thumbing nose at Heller decision.

D.C. on verge of new gun law - Washington Times

They sense that Obama is going to get reelected in November. So they are going to pursue more gun control knowing that Heller -vs- D.C. is not going to be enforced and that it will be a different SCOTUS when Obama gets more judicial appointments in a second term.

The department will conduct the ballistic tests on a gun submitted for registration to determine whether “it is stolen or has been used in a crime,” according to the proposed legislation.

Automatic and semiautomatic handguns remain illegal because they meet the District’s definition of a machine gun, an issue several gun advocates said they intend to challenge.

Can the Supreme Court not find such maneuvers to qualify as 'Contempt of Court'? and, to dispensate offending parties accordingly?

It doesn't matter if it is 2008 or 2012 Washington D.C. and many other "Liberal"States will do anything in thier power to keep thier citizens disarmed, even if it flies in the face of the Supreme Court.A child could figure out that Federal Law applies in all of the United States, and it shouldn't take a Supreme Court decision for the states to realize that the Bill of Rights is applicable to all the states, even that pesky Second Ammendment. What part of the right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED don't they get???.JMHO

The current "balance" in the Supreme Court scares me more than anything else political.
