Bummer...
I do not like being around people who are naively handling unchecked Firearms.
This means most anyone in a Uniform, and, most anyone else also.
Calls for immediate disqualification.

Reminds me of the YouTube video of a federal agent giving a safety lecture and then shooting himself in the foot when he holstered his weapon
I found a loaded and cocked .25 Caliber 'Raven' in the Alley one time.
This was like 1986 or so.
I c-a-r-e-fu-l-l-y picked it up with a piece of Newspaper, and, brought it into my Office, where I then called Metro, and, asked them if they would like to come get it.
Officer shows up, I indicate where the Gun is sitting on the Newspaper, totally UNTOUCHED by my Hands of Fingers, and, I also mention that it appears to be Cocked ( had a Red LoadedChamber indicator on the rear ) and Loaded, so, he picked it up, bare Hands, looks at it this way and that, then jams his fat Thumb through the Trigger Bow, and, points it at his face, holding it maybe eight inches from his Eye, leaning over to the window for better Light, trying to look down the Barrel.
I said "Sir! The Pistol appears to be Loaded and Cocked and may well Fire if you risk depressing the Trigger by having your Thumb in there that way..."
He sort of shrugged, and, just said "Okay then" and he starts to leave.
I then insisted politely for a receipt indicating Make, Model, Caliber and Serial Number, his Badge Number, Date and so on.
He grudgingly provided a signature of sorts, for one I had to fill out for him to sign ( two copys, with Carbon Paper in between, and I gave him the 'copy' one).
When I said I do not like being around people who are handling unchecked Firearms, let me go further -
I do not like being around people who are carelessly handling Firearms which are obviously Loaded and or which they have been told from the get go are Loaded, either.
Lol...
Eeeeeeesh!
Sure would have been a heck of a note if he'd popped himself through the Eye and died right then and there, where I then would have had to call it in, and, be explaining what the heck happened and how I did not do it!!!
Oye...

Deputies say an instructor was showing a student the right way to hold her .22 caliber pistol Saturday when the gun fired, hitting the student next to her.
Crystal Smith was taken to a hospital and treated for shots to her arm and side.
"Sir, the gun accidentally went off and shot her two times...."
Oyeboten, WOW- sounds like HE was loaded! Another reason to remember just because someone says they are, or has some credential that says "certified" or "professional" or has a uniform on ,does not mean they arent careless or stupid.
Just heard first hand about an instructor that gave out certificates to students after a 7 hour course that is supposed to be 12 hours with 2 hours of range time. Absolutely no shooting involved (required by OH) and 5 hours short of total. This guy is a Police Officer in a nearby city. When confronted, blamed a "helper" if the certs were distributed. BS!!! Said they were to get together when the weather gets better to qualify and finish up.
These kind of guys don't deserve a training certification and think that because they are LEO's they can do crap like this and get away with it. Think again.
Never Mistake Meek for being Weak........
