    Ten Ring Precision Question

Has anyone out there ever had dealings with Alex Hamilton at Ten Ring Precision? He sells USFA single actions among other things. He just strung me along on a Bisley he had coming as per his website. I just put money down on another gun and the Bisley escaped my grasp. It just dawned on me that I better check some credentials before sending him more money after getting told a big fat bold faced one. Hopefully someone out there knows something about him. I'd like to think he's a good guy that just made a mistake. If anyone knows different, please shout at me loud and clear. Thanks

not bought from him,but he has done gunsmithing for me. great work and refunded some of the money i sent for the job. was completely unexpected. usfa is not very good at delivering on their promised time frame. also have heard this from others. he may have been promised by usfa and then they didn't deliver.

I appreciate that reply Perrazi. I certainly agree that USFA is slower than 'lasses. This was his mistake though, he admitted it. I been sensing it when he said I'm first in line since last week but wouldn't let me put money down. I put money down on another yesterday and 4 hours later I get an "I messed up" e-mail. He did post it to the website about the Bisley and making a mistake. But out of sheer self preservation I started wondering if I should continue to send him money. I have seen no real guns; only a website and if nobody has heard of him, then I could cut loses by at least not sending any more. I have not responded to his email yet where he informed me it was a special order gun for someone else over a year ago and he lost the order, they chewed him, blah blah.. No use crying over spilled milk, but its the principle of spending another 2K with a guy that would make such a mistake or is just plain lying. Either way, it makes me feel a whole lot better knowing somebody has dealt with Alex , he does what he says he does, and not a total fraud. Texas is a long way to have to go talk to him.. my horse would get tired. He did mark my other gun as sold on his website. Wish he would have gotten my name right. Now I gotta call him to make sure he didn't sell it to "dan" instead of "ben" . the feller doesn't know that he's f'd up twice I guess. Some days you eat the bear.. some days the bear eats you. Your input, Perrazi, helps me know that he is an upstanding guy all in all. He's my senior and deserves to be treated with respect as we all make mistakes.

I have dealt with him. Good guy. USFA is notorious for long waits on custom orders. He is one of, if not the largest seller of USFA's around, so I guess one could slip through the cracks. My experience was good, but I called and gave him the stock # and serial # off the website and things were smooth.

Alex Hamilton is a fine fellow and a world class pistolsmith. He is also a member of the PISTOLSMITH's GUILD and that is an EARNED position by the vote of his peers who are by'n' large one picky bunch of folks who brook NO funny business by any member.

I've always enjoyed his columns in GUNS magazine, he's a very good writer. Uses paragraphs, punctuation, capital letters on words that start a sentence, the whole magilla. That goes a long way with an old fogey like me.

    He seems very knowledgeable.

Alex is a great guy. I met him at a local gun show several years ago and discovered his shop and house are 2 lots over from my wife's cousin. The last time we were there he came over for a visit and is very personable and an excellent gunsmith. As someone stated, he is a member of the Pistolsmiths Guild and not everyone can get in there. I wouldn't hesitate to use him.

I spoke with Mr. Alex today and put his mind at ease that I am not upset about the Bisley going to the person that special ordered it. He put me in already for another order with USFA. I think one of us may have to go there to build it if we are ever to see it.. but thats okay. The man has plenty other guns to choose from and is an upstanding fellow. He got the name changed on the sold gun to mine also. funny thing is I told him I do have a brother named Dan, and Dan is a drinker, and good luck getting money out of him. Alex is trying to get some more Bisley hammers but don't know when that's gonna happen either. I'm told that USFA sold that machine that makes those and someone else (in the US) is making them cheaper for them. Whatcha gonna do!? don't understand how a company that makes such a good product isn't trying to make more guns. I guess the owners have made all the money they can spend and all the guns they can shoot.

I sincerely appreciate you all's positive comments on a guy that I did not know. Most scammers can outsmart me and its nice to know he's not one of them.

yeah i agree on all that and also how about when people use "u" for "you" and "r" for "are" like "where r u going" and punctuation formatting and so on your right but most all you know what bugs me is run on sentences sheesh
