What was your 1st Colt or Colts ?

In 1968 I bought a Colt Detective and traded it for a Colt Cobra. Snubbies hurt the ears. A short while later I traded that in on a NIB Gen 2 Colt SAA in 38 Special. I kept that one for a long time. It was the one I should have kept forever.

Can't remember the year ....I bought a Fourth Model Deringer, serial number put it at 1961, for something like $45. Hey, it was a Colt. So you could say I started at the bargain basement and every Colt thereafter has cost me considerably more . Still have that little pea shooter and it's still worth maybe $45.

1st colt was a gift from my father. i was around 15 years old.It was a frontier scout .22. Unfortunately when i was around 25 years old, some SOB('s) stole it along with a mod 15 S&W from my apt. in Texas. I was out of town for a week when the breakin occured.
The first Colt I bought myself was a first gen AGENT which i bought around 1985. I still have it and it shoots good.

I picked up a 6in Python a couple of months after I got married. Spent the grocery money on it ($100.00), my Wife thought I was crazy! After 36 yrs this month. I've still got both of them! Probably 2 of the best deals I've gotten in my life !!

My first (and to date my only Colt) was purchased new in 1974. I carried a 1974 Colt Detective Special off duty while in patrol and both on and off duty while in the detective division. Wonderful firearm. Brings back memories. Thanks for posting.

In 1980 I was 23, married, broke, and laid off a lot, but managed to put together around $375 for a brand new Colt SAA. I got a .357 because it was a little cheaper but instantly regretted not having a "Colt .45!" I later sold it and got a .45. I came across this picture of the gun from a time I was married the first time and pretty poor in general.
