My first colt. In 1972 a friend had found a colt 25 cal. vest pocket in an old homestead cabin in the Missouri river breaks in western N.D. I paid 40$ for it. It was rusted and froze up. I took the grips off and soaked it in solvent and cleaned it up. The hard rubber grips, mag, and mechanics are fine. Exterior has no finish and covered with fine pits. Serial number 254xx and last patent date of 1903. Not a collector item but will never be sold( by me).

My first Colt was a Series 70 .45. I bought it about 20 years ago. It was highly customized with a bad ass muzzle brake that I thought was pretty cool at the time. I remember I paid $900.00 for it. Much later I sent the gun to California to have a Bar Sto match barrel fitted. The gun was a tackdriver but later on it developed a crack in the frame. She's no longer part of my small collection.

My first Colt was a police issued Detective Special 2nd. Generation. I bought it 8 years ago.
Detective Specials were provided to Police Departments in my country during the 50s/60s. They were destined to female LEOs.

They were sold several years later at a bargain price. I picked up mine at a LGS after examining near 20 other Detective Specials that ran from Poor to Very Good condition. All of them were trown at a wooden box containing more than fifty revolvers from the same Police Dept.-

Now I wish I had buy a couple more.-

In 1979 purchased a Colt Diamondback (4"). Carried as my sidearm as a police officer for 2+ years. It is now in my NRA display case.

Got this 1927 Argentine Colt from my dad 25 years ago, it was my first. It's one of the 10,000 made in Hartford and shipped to Argentina. Dad's gone now and I wouldn't take a share in a railroad for the old beat up Colt.

He also left me with one of these, a pre 70 series 1911 in nickel. I have since found a twin to it. Dad's is on the top.

In 1975 I purchased my first semi automatic a Colt combat commander in .45ACP. Two years later I traded it for a detective special with shrouded ejector rod. Needed cash sold colt. Big mistake. Twenty years later scored big time a colt lawman MK III. 2" and a 6" Trooper for $500. Lost the trooper due to burglary but still have the Lawman snubby.
