The pistol will have proof marks of some kind, either English or Italian as it is illegal to sell a firearm (it is a licensed weapon over here) which has not been through a European proof house.

If a new Colt percussion revolver (2nd/3rd Generation) is in England, is it likely to have British proof marks?
If it gets shipped back to the U.S., even though it's considered an antique/non-firearm, will it receive import stamps?
Thanks,
John Gross
My areas of expertise are firearms and Latin females. Not necessarily in that order.

But if someone brought a 2nd or 3rd Generation Colt Percussion Pistol to England, privately or obtained one from someone who had...there would be no 'proofs' Stamped on it.
If someone imported one of these pistols from the USA for their own use it would not need to be proofed. If they subsequently wanted to sell the pistol it would have to go to one of the UK proof houses. You are risking trouble if you sell a firearm over here that has not been proofed.
