Well I am just a tiny toddler in this group.
My most expensive Colt so far was my 1978 4" PYTHON Nickel LNIB with all papers $1,900.
1984 python brushed stainless 1500, give that again all day long. If u would do it again its alright

I haven't bought any spectacularly rare Colts, but I have bought a couple of high condition scarce models. The most I ever paid for any Colt was for this almost new 1902 Military manufactured in 1923:
Somewhat less expensive but still not cheap was this seemingly unfired snubnose Commando from WWII.
I admit to having paid more than I paid for either of these guns for two extremely rare S&Ws, as well as one Mannlicher Schoenauer carbine in immaculate condition and with prewar Kahles glass on it. But this kind of purchase does not happen often. And if I live too long I will have to sell these to pay retirement home fees.
