Welcome to the forum. You'll find many leos here active and retired including one from Illinois
Hello from upstate New York (Adirondack region). I am new to this forum, but have a few miles on my tires. I have served my country twice and am currently an active LEO and a proud father of a son who is also a LEO. I have owned many different 1911 pistols and other 45s over my many years, but have come back to Colt. I gave my last non-Colt (Kimber Eclipse Pro Carry) to my son as his off duty weapon. My duty weapon is a Colt series 70 upgraded by a well known Arizona gunsmith and my off duty is a Colt Commander. I cannot afford to be a collector, but still hope to add a few more Colts in the years to come.
I look forward to becoming an active member of this forum and will enjoy reading and seeing others experiences.

Welcome to the Forum! I sure felt the earthquake here in VA!
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit such crimes... such laws make things worse for the assualted and better for the assailants: they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man" Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare BeccariaNRA Life Member
