Welcome to the Forum!
Hey guys, I'm new to collecting pistols. I'm collecting Colt (obvious) and have just purchased a Detective Special (square butt/shrouded ejector) in blue, for concealed/back-up carry. My wife shot it and likes it so much that I gave it to her. I'm going to get rid of her stainless back-up S&W 36 and she's going to help me purchase a Python. I'll get another back-up later. Preferably an early Police Positive with 2" barrel. Anyway, I also collect pre '64 Winchester long guns and am an avid black powder fan. Hope also to get a Pietta/Uberti 1860 Colt to go along with the 1858 Remington and 1861 Springfield. I also do some Archery and am a re-curve fan. My wife and I are part time deputies with the Richland County Sheriff's Department in Columbia, SC. When we're not doing that, we both work for a small college here in Greenville, SC, where we live.
Of course, you can see my main love is cars.
Just wanted to say "hello".

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit such crimes... such laws make things worse for the assualted and better for the assailants: they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man" Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare BeccariaNRA Life Member
Hi, TE; I'm here in Greenville. Happened to see that one of your interests is cap and ball revolvers. You should come to one of our SASS matches at the Greenville Gun Club; 4th Sunday of every month. Most folks shoot cartridge revolvers but there is a category for cap and ball called "Frontiersman" that is fun. We often have a couple of shooters at each match using them. Send me a PM if you'd like more information; it's a GREAT couples' sport.
"Crunchy Frogs - does it contain real frogs?"
Yeah, I actually have a reloading friend who is going to get into it and I was thinking of doing it myself, only problem is: it seems to take place during church time. If it were in the afternoon after church, I would definitely be there. I'm also going to purchase one of the cartridge cylinders for the 1858 and do some "cowboy" shooting.
Actually, I'll probably bring the Python out to the Gun club this Saturday.
Welcome Turbo, looks like you need something to do.
Tomorrow hopes we have learned something from yesterday.
