Glad to have you with us Bruce. Welcome to the Forum.
Hello, my name is Bruce. Found this place while looking up some Python info. I'm a couple of years shy of 60 and have been collecting guns since I was a kid. My first Colt was a brand new Diamondback 4" in 38 spec. I got for Christmas in 1968. I wasn't old enough to even own it, but I was always a responsible kid, so my mother let me have it. It was a gift from my older sister and her husband, I still have it of course. I like older Colt DAs from the 20th century, nothing after the 1960s. Have lot's of Police Positives and their variations, a couple of 1917s, a minty 4 digit SN 6" Python, a gorgeous .45LC New Service from 1941, some snubbies and a bunch of 1911s and A1s, plus a bunch of other Colts. Got some S&Ws and other stuff too, but Colts are my favorite. As far as I'm concerned, unless it was made for the U.S. government during WW1 or WW2, NOBODY ever made 1911 or 1911A1 handguns but Colt. Everything else on the market is just a cheap imitation. Same goes for AR-15's. I'm just prejudiced I guess. I'm also into collecting militaria, knives, and things I find interesting. I love to shoot, but hitting the target is another matter.
I gave my older son a Colt 1911A1 for his 13th birthday (he was a responsible kid also, raised around guns), I taught him to field strip it at 10. He's now 30 and prefers Glocks. I think I'm going to disown him. At least he's into guns, my slightly younger son is also very responsible and raised around guns, but he's just not into them yet (he must have been "switched at birth").![]()

welcome to the forum!
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit such crimes... such laws make things worse for the assualted and better for the assailants: they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man" Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare BeccariaNRA Life Member
