That next step is a Duesey! Glad you're here, welcome to the Forum.
I currently own a detective special 38--police positive 22--380 mustang & a 80 series Gold cup 45. I would love to get my 380 & Gold cup to be competitive with the likes of kimber ect... Do I need to send them to colt or---Any suggestions would be appreciated. Gold cup has 400 rounds shot. Yesterday I put 100 rounds through it & often found myself droping the hammer on a empty chamber as the action closed after firing last round. Shot Winchester FMJ. Help!! what can I do to solve this problem & get my gold cup to shoot better groups. Thanks fer reading my post. Colt 4-ever Bubba44

Welcome. Glad you have accepted your Colt addiction and realized you are powerless against it. Just wallow in in it and enjoy yourself.
As for your Colt Gold Cup "problem" -- have you shot better groups with other .45 Autos? No insult intended but most guns shoot better than the shooter.
Could be a magazine problem

Definitely a mag problem. I would try a Wilson Combat or Chip Mccormick mags. You might be able to call Colt and have them send you a couple new mags. BTW, you have already surpassed The quality of Kimber.
I gotta .45 underneath my coat and another one in my boot.
Welcome from Texas Bubba44. Great forum for all things Colt, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.
