Welcome to the Forum, glad to have you onboard.
I was introduced to Colt Revolvers during my first marriage when the in-laws handed me an old official police (with beautiful stag grips) carried by wife’s grandfather when he was a police office in Minnesota.
When my wife and I went our separate ways I returned the pistol to her. Unbeknownst to me her next husband traded the heirloom away for a rifle project of his own. The O.P. was gone and ultimately so was the next husband.
Ten years later my son, grows to a young man who could appreciate his grandfather’s revolver. I encourage to ask his mother for the revolver. Alas it is gone forever.
I still have the holster and bullet loops so I find an appropriate Official Police and get it for him for Christmas. It’s such a nice revolver I get one for myself. I am now hooked on collecting old revolvers. I rather prefer revolvers with character as I am somewhat the worse for wear myself.
That’s my Colt story, I will post my pictures in the appropriate forum. Thanks
Bruce

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit such crimes... such laws make things worse for the assualted and better for the assailants: they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man" Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare BeccariaNRA Life Member
