New to the forum from New Hampshire...

I carried a DS in the Navy in 1966. I came out and brought home a Remington Rand 1911A1 and carried it on the job in 1971. I found an original Trooper .357 in 1972 and have cherished the Colt's guns since. I have 1911A1s, Combat Commanders in .45acp. I have a sweet Python and the old Trooper in the safe. About 20 years ago I found an Officer's Match in .38 Long Colt and with real pearl grips and I still enjoy it. Today I was in the mood to get rid of my Sig P238 and when I went in the favorite shop. ( I ain't telling you guys where it is because I intend to buy everything they have before I die.) I spotted a Colt Detective Special from 1967 with a set of old and junky Franzite grips in white. I cajoled it out of the case and looked at it for approximately .0019 of one second before I realized that it was a rare bird. The screw heads are perfexct and appear to have never been attended by a driver. The blue finish is 99+% and it looks as if the gun has been in grandpa's sock drawer for 45 years. Soon as I got home I ordered a new set of black plastic grips with brass Colt medallions and ordered a Don Hume holster. HKS speedloaders for S&W M10s fit just so. I am going to sell some S&Ws and start looking for more Colt's.
I am a retired cop. Just retired from the NH Dept of Safety in 2009 and am happily looking for more Colts.

    Welcome to the Forum!
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit such crimes... such laws make things worse for the assualted and better for the assailants: they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man" Thomas Jefferson quoting Cesare Beccaria NRA Life Member
