Welcome to the Forum, nnice to have you here.
Hi,
After a long sabbatical, I got me another early Colt. Having once had a very nice Official Police .38, I happened across a 1929'ish (237xxx) Police Positive. A great shooter, but was re-blued recently (an extremely good job). Original grips, but worn. D.P.D engraved on the frame under the butt. Had to have it and it resulted in my looking up this forum. Hope to exchange stories and experiences.
It joins a few more "modern" weapons:

I wish I had a magic bullet for your problem but all I have are hollow points.

hi there desertrefugee. that looks like a nice revolver. have you shot it? i have a 1934 official police with pipp 64 struck on the frame butt.
seldom is heard a discouraging word
Thanks everybody. Yes, I had it at the range last weekend and put 100 rounds through it. It shoots well and appears pretty much spot on - not bad for a 80+ year old firearm! As I mentioned, a recent professionally re-bluing now makes the worn grips look pretty shabby. I'm looking for a decent pair. Also, the lock-up isn't as tight as I'd like to see, but it's not going to be heavily used. I'll let it go I suspect.
Thanks again for the welcome!
Welcome to the Forum and Merry Christmas!
