Hi all. Revolver guy / gun owner for years here. Soon to be getting my first Colt, an Army Special from the mid teens. It's well worn, but mechanically sound and not pitted. I'm more familiar with some other brands, but not at all with Colts, so I'm sure I'll be posting some questions next week when I get it - and some pics too.
I do know that one of the stocks has a crack. The seller said they are a hard bakelite type material, dark brown. I'm wondering already how much $$ I'll have in finding a better pair of stocks, and if any other styles, possibly wooden ones, may have came on these.

Hi, guitar1580. Welcome to the Forum! I'm a newbie, too, next door in Ohio. I'm not a wheelgun guy, & won't be much help with your AS. But stand by, 'cuz help is on the way. The Forum is the place for all things Colt!

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I do like my old Army Special. It's a really cool piece. Still no luck finding the grips, but I'm holding off for a while before I buy repros.
