welcome to the forum from connecticut, where your colt was born.
I wanted to introduce myself. I have been using the site the last couple of weeks to research a purchase that was made on Monday of an old colt SAA. It is a first gen serial # 139XXX which seems to put it 1891. It is a nickle gun with pearl handles. I bought it from a business associate whose father bought it in Waco, Tx in 1943 before heading overseas in WW2. I will post pictures in the near future.
Thanks for the wonderful site and great info.

welcome to the forum from connecticut, where your colt was born.
my plan is to get the Colt letter. The only info I have sofar is the purchase in Waco, Texas in the 40's. The gun is a .44-40 and I am taking it to shoot it Tomorrow in northern Michigan. I had the local gunsmith look at to confirm it was in good working order. Thanks for the interest. Once I get photos I look forward to sharing. I am excited to learn more about Colts and my particular new aquisition.
