Welcome PecosBill, or Dan,Black powder revolvers are not in my realm. However, Uberti's come from Italy. They clone Colts. Nothing wrong with them.. as long as you didn't pay "Colt" money
New here and already with the questions. LOL
I just picked up a Colt black power revolver. It has pictures of tall ships on the wheel. Under the ram it says Colt Mfg. Made in Italy.
The main frame and the front sight are brass the rest is strange blued. Anyone know what I bought? .44 cal and looks like it will be a lot of fun to learn on and shoot.
Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan, nice to 'meet' you. Welcome to the forum. The manufacturer's name should be found somewhere on the firearm. Though not a Colt, per se, the Italian maker's, such as Uberti, do a very nice job.

Welcome from next door in Ohio. And "Wow", Dan! You started with a "tuffie." Pix, please?

In doing some research I found it is a 1851 Navy replica made in 1966. It is in shootable condition and the grips are like new. The brass needs some polish but for $95.00 out the door I think I did good. If I like it (as a hobby) I may get me a better one in the future.
I actually went to the store looking for a 686 w/ 2 1/2" barrel. I love the .357 and If I can find one at a reasonable price, I may just make that my primary carry.
Thank you for the warm welcome.
Dan
