First, welcome to the forum. Have you posted this on the revolver page? Also, do I presume correctly that you're saying there are six bullets lodged in the barrel? WOW.
Colt New Army 1905, .38 Cal Barrel Re-placement
Have searched long and far for a barrel replacement, have six (6) bullets in this one, none came out of the barrel. No, I didnt do it.
Question: (1) Is the Colt Official Police MarkIII barrel the same as a Official Police?
(2) Is the Colt Official Police barrel the same as the New Army 1905?
(3) Is the Colt Official Police Mark III or Colt Official Police barrel a direct replacement for the
Colt New Army 1905?
Any info will be most helpful
regards

Orphan Barrels for the New Army or New Navy do turn up now and then in Gunbroker...as do inexpensive 'Parts Guns' or 'Project Guns' who's Barrels in some cases are still good or better.
I do not recall whether the Army Special and it's successive morphs are the same Thread schedule as the New Army and New Navy had been...but, certainly anything post War would look totally wrong on a 1905 New Army Frame.
Can you post some images?
Be interesting to see this!
Welcome, I was wondering what made the shooter think the next bullet would force everything out. I think after one I would stop. Maybe 6 people owned the gun and each tried to force them out. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? Also wandering how do you know there are 6 in the barrel? You now have a rare gun without the value going up. Enjoy your stay, keep us posted.
Tomorrow hopes we have learned something from yesterday.
Maybe they were playing Russian roulette...with alot of money on the table!
Actually, yes - the Revolver may be more valuable to an admittedly narrow market of Buyers or collectors of such things, or as a curiousity, for having six Bullets jammed in the Barrel, than it is or would be if re-Barreled.
I have seen old Colt and Smith & Wessons which had the side of the Barrel carefully Milled away to show their five or usually 'Six' Bullets jammed in there...and, these were always a popular item to look at and marvel over when they would show up at a Gun Show.
Welcome from Eastern NC. We like pictures of Colts. I can only imagine the shooter was thinking , "man I can't hit anything with this gun" and kept pulling the trigger. The experienced shooter noticed the sound of the shot wasn't right and stopped after the first shot. The not-too-smart shooter pulls the trigger again, aiming at the ground to see if anything comes out, then stops. .. and then there's the guy, finally realizing nothing is coming out after several shots, looks down the barrel and keeps pulling the trigger til it doesn't go bang and wondered what just happened??!!
I'm just trying to not be like the last guy some days
