Welcome from another newbie from CA! Must be a great friend to give you what looks like a museum piece. Post a better picture when you can, she deserves it!
A friend gave me a Colt SAA, Nickle with 'C' coverage in 45 Colt with a five digit serial number. Call to Colt says this weapon was built in 1879. Need to know what I have here. The pistol is in excellent condition. I usually shoot my guns but I am wondering if I should just display this one.photo.jpg

Thank you and I will post a better picture now that I know how.
1) Welcome to the forum.
2) What you have is a wonderful friend.
3) An 1879 SAA in the shape that your firearm is in is fantastic!
4) Consider posting this and more photos, if possible, on the revolver forum for more info.
5) Would your friend consider adopting me?
Glad you're here.

Another welcome from another CA neophyte. Getting crowded in here. Most of my friends won't give much more than the time of day, that's quite a gift!
