Welcome to the forum.
Hello,
I was hoping to get some advice. I have been looking around for an older 1911 that has been around since at least WW2. I found one made in 1918. Defintely not original(parkerized, plastic grips, looks like it doesn't have the original slide release or pin. I have some pics if I can figure out how to post them. I have it on hold for the next few days. The asking price is $1550.00. I am ok that it isn't a complete original because it has history, been around in during two world wars and I really can't afford a 100% original. I am just trying to decide if the price is too much.

Hi, jpc1976, and welcome to the Forum. I'd wait a bit to hear from some of the experts here, but seems that the asking price is a bit high, considering the modifications you describe. From what I can see in your pix, the parts & pieces look like the real McCoy M1911. Any idea who the manufacturer was?

Hello,
Yeah it is a Colt. It seems a bit high to me too. I am still kind of interested though. I've been having a hard time finding one.
I think I'd pass on that one especially at that price. Welcome aboard.
