Thanks for sharing those nice pics! That is a gorgeous 1911!![]()
This is a old Series 70 that I saved from total neglect. The pistol was in terrible shape when I purchased it at a very good price. It was purchased with the intentions of having some work done to it and then being engraved. The work was done by a local gunsmith, Rollmarks recut by Bill Adair prior to his passing and the engraving was done by Robert Shade from Gransbury Texas. The completed pistol has been finished for about a year now and has about 4500 rounds through it since being done. I occasionally carry it and have qualified with it twice. Even with the engraving it was built as a shooter. This was a project that took about 2-3 years to happen, between finding the right pistol and then finding the right amount of money. In the end I smile every time I handle the pistol and then when I shoot it the smile turns into a sh*^ eating grin. The reason for the new pictures are the Ivory grips I purchased here on this sight from Greg (Matquig). I had been looking for a pair with a little age and a little bark and think I found a pair that compliments the pistol well.
I'm still working on the photography skills. While they are improving they are no where near as good as I would like.

I like both the pistol and the attitude. Thanks for sharing both. Good to see something that's being used for the designed purpose.

Well done sir. Thanks for saving it ...
on a personal note; Bill Adair was a great fellow and one sorely missed.
