    My Austin Behlert Gold Cup

In the mid 70's the late Austin Behlert did a complete rebuild of a brand new Colt series 79 Gold Cup. I've been carrying and shooting it since then. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoy shooting it.
He did a great job and he's truly missed, even today.

    Nice looking pistol, but

what's the logic is removing the slack in the trigger?
I'd be leery of having that trigger on any working gun.
I was taught to use that so-called "slack" as an aid in proper trigger control ...
and to treat it as an additional passive safety feature.

    Welcome to the forum bruce272!
Gold Cup's are my favorite variant.
The treatment on the trigger guard and front grip strap are really unique. I don't recall having seen one before. Thanks for the pics!

Abe, the set screw isn't for removing ALL the free play, it's only to take up just a bit which makes trigger pull a lot more repeatable.

    Austin Behlert Remembered

In the late 1960's, I used to visit him in his Home were he would do action jobs on my target guns in the kitchen while you waited. Then he opened his shop in Cranford NJ and was there until he moved his operation to South Brunswick. Still have a lot of his literature that I picked up. My c1967 Gov't .45 has his action job -sweet.
