    Nice Little Winchester

I was puttering around the house this morning and thought it would be fun to take a few photos of this little '94 Trapper in 45 LC.

    NICE PICS!

This is a '94 Trapper in .45 colt as well, it was my Dad's cowboy action gun.

This is such a fun gun to shoot, I love the peep sight!

I love the trappers with that old type front sight and NO dumb button safety on the frame. If you don't mind me posting my two Winchesters, maybe others will too. Is this your cowboy match longgun?

1909 (I think) 44-40 1892 my dad traded a Luger for in the 50's. Can you count all the special features on this old ranch gun?

1948 94 in .32 Special. My first centerfire rifle my parents gave me for Christmas around 1972.

Why do we press harder on the buttons of a remote control when we know the batteries are dead?

I love the 92 action. Here's my brushbeater Browning .44 Magnum B-92. An all time favorite of mine bought well used around 1985'

Plain (un-checkered) and capped pistol grip stock, Shotgun Butt, Takedown, and if they are original to the gun the Tang Sight and what appears to be a rear Folding Sight. The front sight looks like a standard rifle nickel or brass insert sight. The full magazine is standard. Is the barrel a standard 24 inches?

    Nice little Trapper Tim!!!!

Pretty good.Yeah, 24". I assume that the tang sight and folding rear are original special ordered touches. They are aged perfectly with the rifle. I just checked and it's actually a 1905 gun. I guess the round barrel isn't custom but most are just octagon. The grip cap is hard rubber but the shotgun butt is the more common serrated steel. Notice the cattle brand in the stock, maybe done with a hot shaped wire, or mini cattlebrand. It looks too clean to be handcut but maybe I'm wrong.
Tim. About ten years ago a local gunshop had a modern Winchester Trapper 30-30, saddle ring, shotgun butt with hard rubberbutt with Win. logo, non angle eject with no new safety for $275. I offered my freind a Andy Anderson gun rig for $250. He bought it but waited an extra day to think about it and when I ran to the store the 30-30 was gone. I liked it because it was newish but lookes like a custom ordered one from the turn of the century. Oh, well...

When I wear my Winchester Collector's hat I really like Saddle Ring Carbines, Trapper Carbines, and Short Rifles. Here is a 15 inch barrel Model 92 Trapper Carbine in 44-40 that I owned in the early 80's.
