Lets Play...What Happened to This Python?

Ever since I was 12 my dream gun was a 6" Python. I happened accross some profitable trades on other guns and decided to snag one for a decent price at a local shop. However, this baby is UGLY. So...lets play a game. Make up a story that explains this disaster! I figure someone keelhauled it under a battleship...

The Other side isnt much better...

BTW would this be a reasonable candidate for refinishing?

BTTW I could use a pair of rosewood grips, any advice?

What in the world was a Python doing in the Fukushima Nuclear plant and how did you rescue it after the tsunami and earthquake?

Depending on how much, or little, you have in it I think it is a candidate for refinishing.

Figuring Pythons in Phoenix start at $950 for a 90% 70's piece needing a tune up, $750 for a 60% 60's Python needing less tuning was a good deal.

That gun was previously in the Folsom Prison Museum out here. They aquired it when a prisoner's wife tried to smuggle it in.

I once saw a Colt Trooper Mark V that was left in a console of a vehicle after a soda pop was spilled into it. Looked about the same way after the active rust was killed.

We saw a lot of these after the hurricanes in 2005. In South Louisiana we call them "Katrina guns".

Those grips are perfect on that gun!

I don't know, I think maybe just take the grips off and wrap the gripframe in duct tape or friction tape. Maybe spray it with a rattlecan full of rustoleum.
Seriously, if the pitting isn't too bad I think I'd send this one into Colt and have it refinished. It would come back looking like new.
