Nice one. When did you pick this one up? I knew you were looking. Looks good.
Nevermind. You're looking for a diff. model.
I don't know if there's a photo thread of these yet. I just took a couple of new pics of my Pocket Hammer and am using this as an excuse to post them

Snub nose revolvers
That one I picked up about 3 years ago. I was looking at an earlier one at Kittery Trading Post today (ended up buying a police positive special, thread on it posted in revolvers) The one at KTP was an earlier one with high polish blue finish and plunge milled serrations. At first I was considering maybe trying to trade mine for it because I really like the earlier style. Then I noticed someone had replaced the sights on it with a wider serrated front sight and wider rear notch. That made the value of the gun much lower than the $1400+ asking price.
For about a year there were a pair of .38 autos (with the long butt and cool lanyard ring on the side. Military?) by two different consignees at this local shop. They were a couple hundred numbers apart. One is still there at $1300. The other just sold for $800. They were very close in condition, too. A few times I looked at the $800 one and went "Hmmm..."
They would have made a great matched pair.
Did you ever see "100 rifles" with Rackuel Welch trying to play a Mexican? Even though she's really part mexican she couldn't pull it off, but who cares! Anyway, bad guy Fernando Lamas carries a pair of nickel and ivory .38 Colt autos in this in a double rig.

Hello Twaits, that is a very nice Pocket Hammer. Congratulations![]()
Something 'stirring' about that gun. Beautiful in its own way; not perfect, it has just the right amount of patina to it to say that it has seen SOOOO much in all these years. And, yes, we need a Early Colt Auto thread. Thanks!

Yes. Now we just need some other early Colt Autos people to come play![]()
Great example of the ancestor to the great 1911.![]()
Is 1919 early enough?
