    Colt Artillery

I have been looking to get one for awhile. I picked this one up last week. The finish is better that my pictures show. It has the usual mixed serial numbers. There is a P proof on the barrel and cylinder, J.T.C. inspector on the frame, an unreadable inspector stamp on the cylinder(only a D is visable), RAC on the 1902 dated grips. It came with a very nice display box.

Congratulations. From your pictures, it looks like a clean and unmolested example. The JTC frame is a plus as he only inspected 2003 Cavalrys ( the second lowest no.). Also, I personally have found 1902 cartouched Artillerys hard to come by-but others may have experienced otherwise. I'd be interested in knowing the SNs on the frame, cylinder, BS, TG and the barrel (even if you "xx" the last two digits for privacy reasons) and if there are any stamps on the bottom of the stocks or a cartouche on the right hand stock. Also, does there appear to be any feathering on the sides of the front sight? If you don't have a Factory letter you might consider requesting one, especially if you can see the feathering.
