Here's an Argentinian, the smokestack is just a trick barrel bushing. The long safety and ball hammer are aftermarket. Yes, I filed the grip safety for the hammer, after all it's not a Colt.

Wow...nice to see some of the Norwegian Colt 1911s!

I also am very fond of the Hispano Suiza ( "H.A.F.D.A.S.A.") rendering a-la M1911, even though they of course were not a Colt, and, not part of any Licensing arrangement.

Far as that goes though, am I correct to recall that the only two M1911s made elsewhere under Licence, were the Argentine "Systema Colt Modelo 1927" and the Norwegian "Kongsberg" M1912/M1914?

Thank you. It is my favorite pistol, a gift from a (+) friend.

It does not have any Nazi type markings, and the serial number does not fall within the "Nazi" serial number range ( it is before that range of sn's ).

I'd like to find another one, they are great pistols.

That is what I understand (made elsewhere under license), but my knowledge is based on limited reading. I share your interest in the older foreign "clones" (using current terminology/slang).

Don't know don't care, are you an english teacher or just a general pain in the ass? As for molestation it's just a South American fake Colt, just like your's. I wouldn't dream of harming a real Colt.

    I think it is 'Argentine'.

Rumor has long had it, that the Argentine 'HAFDASA' ( Hispana Suiza made ) rendering of the Colt Model of 1911 used better Steels and had stronger Frames, Slides and Barrels, than Colt did.

This may also apply to the 'Systema' ( which came later, and, presumably was in a position to learn from the 'HAFDASA' production ) as well.

Anyway, far as I recall, the 'Systema' were made under Licence from Colt, and with Colt's blessing, and, with Colt receiving Royalties.

The 'Systema' has always been highly regarded ( as have the unlicenced and somewhat different mechanically 'HAFDASA' .45 ACP Pistols ).
