Lets see your 'older' Colt-esque .45 ACPs

Must be pre 1960s anyway if you don't mind...and, be .45 ACP.

So, no modern 'clones' or spin-offs or sub-Calibre 1911-esques for this Thread please.

Ie: The "H.A.F.D.A.S.A." made ones, the "Star Model P", the early 'Llama' and, whomever else as made unlicenced Model of 1911-like .45 Autos back when.

These being very much like the Colt Model of 1911, or, the 1911A1, but, were not Licenced by Colt, and, typically have some mechanical or small design differences from the Colt.

But because they are superficially so Colt-like, and allude to Colt, I think they may be welcome to enjoy a Thread of their own for some show and tell and all round appreciation of their own particular uniquenesses.

I will start off with a circa 1938 I think, three digit serial no. 'HAFDASA' - "Ballester Rigaud" :

Mine is lacking the original Stocks and Stock Screws, which I will ammend soon as I find some to replace these with.

Otherwise, thin Blue on the one side of the Slide, but all else quite nice and low-miliage indeed, with deep dark original Blue showing well on most of the frame and the rest of the Slide.

Image made ths side of the Slide appear grainy, but, in real Life it appears very smooth, just thin Blue.

Well..is it just me, or is this wonderful and inviting Thread moving a little slowly?

I guess I could post an image showing the other side of the old Ballester Rigaud, liven things up a little that way...

    Lol...

If I had one to post I would! I'd like to have a Star model P or even a model B. It's seen in a lot of gangster flicks. "Frank Nitti" in the Costner film "Untouchables" used a nickel plated Star..."Hey, I got a per-MIT for thaat"

    You got any Stars Oyeboten?

    Hi twaits.

Yes indeed one does see a lot of 'Star' Automatics used in the Movies..! Often appearing to be Colt .45 Autos at-a-glance.

'Pulp Fiction' I think also had a Nickle or Chrome plated Star 9mm or 9mm Largo, dunno which.

I have one 'Star', a 1940s Model B, likely made for the Wermacht or other but too late for delivery, which ended up with the Saxony Police in the Post War time.

Close to new condition, and, 9mm P-'08.

I guess I ought to start a Thread for 'older' Colt-esques which are sub-.45 ACP Calibre.

They also of course pay their Homage to John Browning and Colt, even if departing somewhat in their mechanicals...so, 'Colt' related...
