Yeah Series 70 Colts!
For gratifying and fun range time, a Gold Cup is hard to beat. Handloading is very rewarding for it too.
A photo of the one that lives here. Apparently manufactured in 1979, I purchased it new in 1981 or 1982.

Those are some beautiful Colts. You guys are killing me! I don't have a Gold Cup in my collection - yet.
What kind of Legacy will you leave?

Here's my Series 70 GC, manufactured in 1976 next to my Gold Cup Trophy. The S70 has a 3# trigger pull that breaks like an icicle courtesy of the Colt Custom Shop. Previous owner had added the arched MSH. Of the 15 handguns I own, this is by far my favorite shooter. I feed both pistols with handloads consisting of 4.7 gr. of Tightgroup under 185 gr. Hornady SWC's (match-grade). Approx. 832 fps.
Never had a malfunction in either pistol.

Any problem on Earth can be solved with the careful application of high explosives. The trick is not to be around when they go off.
