What's the difference between yours and a Combat Elite Enhanced? Is there a big difference? Thanks and your Colt is sure sweet looking.
Been wanting to see more of these so may I start the SCG thread with this one? Just love the way the Custom Shop built these puppies; tight tolerances, terrific fit and finish. Colt, ya done good!

Very nice looking Mod O. I particularly like the stocks. They are very attractive.
My tastes run more towards stock commercial Mod Os from the 2Os-late 60s, but nobody asked me!
I have both and, to me, the biggest difference is the build quality. The Combat Elite is a standard production model with good fit and finish. The Special Combat Government comes from the Custom Shop where the tolerances are super tight; they get hands-on attention by the Colt shop smiths. I copy here, the description of the gun from Colt's website: This competition ready 45 ACP (also available in .38 Super & Carry Model) comes with a 3 hole aluminum trigger, S&A grip safety, custom tuned action, polished feed ramp, throated barrel, flared ejection port, enhanced hammer, two 8-round magazines with bumpers, extended thumb safety, Bomar rear and Heinie dovetail front sight, and S&A magazine guide. Fully accurized and shipped with a certified target attesting to its exceptional precision.

It sure looks great with those grips. What's the price range on the Combat Gov.,I'll have to look into one of those if you say they are that nice, sounds like something to invest in.Thanks for the info.
Heres my older Special combatDSC03138.JPG
DSC03132.JPGThanks its an early one (90's) and I believe its a carry model, but I've never seen one in two tone configuration so I think the lower half may have been refinished but you never now what colt does with things sometimes. I know the grips are alumigrips and the grip screws have been changed but it does look nice either way, I've had it for two years and never shot it, I think I probablly should someday.
