Turnerriver,
If you don't mind me asking, what's your source on acquiring
all these fine holsters? Estate sales, ebay etc?
Thanks,
Darryl
Heiser offered belt clips like this starting in the late 1930's.This is a Franz-Loc nickel silver clip for a 1 1/2" belt.Heiser riveted the clip to a piece of leather & then sewed the leather to the holster. This clip was added to a standard model 528 auto holster (the 5 signifies basketweave finish-Heiser model numbers starting with 4 are plain finish & those starting with 7 are floral carved). My 1960's vintage Government Model looks pretty good in this.

Darryl, this one did come from Ebay.I find them at gun shows & elsewhere & I'm lucky enough to have friends who are on the lookout for holsters as well.I've been collecting gun leather for a long time.

Turnerriver,
I picked up a vintage canvas holster recently, it's WWII Canadian I think.
The seller did not know what handgun it was made for, do you recognize it?
I took a chance on it thinking it's made for a 1911.
Thanks,
Darryl

Darryl, I'll take a chance on trying to answer this.
If the holster is Canadian, it was probably made for the Canadian Inglis version of the 9mm Hi Power pistol.
Have you tried fitting a 1911 in it yet?
Malysh,
It's in route now, I expect to have it in a couple of days.
