Really nice!
When I read the title of the thread I thought I'd open it and see one of your custom made holster rigs, too.
Well, almost. No ivory grips. These guns wear sambar stags. I just picked up the short S&W at a great price and teamed up with this Colt .45. it's as close to Patton's guns as I'll ever get. I'm tempted to make a Patton replica rig for them.
Here's Patton's guns.

Yes, that's the way, close to Pattons as you need to be , his set is the inspiration there is no need to slavishly copy.
That's a great pair of guns and the Colt engraved too !
Now you have mentioned doing a holster set, once you have put it out there you cannot back away. They are handsome holsters, they would look good basket weaved.
Are the buckles readily available ?
NB
Gorgeous, nice find, congratulations.

Please post pictures of the holsters when they are finished,...........
How about a compromise between plain leather and full basket stamped, as in maybe a border around the edges with plain middle...
As for the general officer type buckle, maybe start with Dixie Gun Works, they used to have that type buckle, but I don't have a current catalog.
Enjoy your holster set project, however you decide to constuct it. We are all anxiously awaiting the pictures of the finished project....
