Great price; Congrats!! That will make a terrific belly gun.
I was really considering buying a fellow forum members Uberti 2nd Model Dragoon when this had to happened. A grail gun that for some reason I never bought when they cost around $200. Now twenty five or so years later I found one locally fired less than fifteen rounds and carried just a couple times hiking. That's what the seller said and I believe him because this gun is like new. A 1991 purchased Charter .44 Special. Finish and action is fantastic. It was $265 with a box of Silvertips, Uncle Mike's holster, and extra Pach. grips.

Great deal, Matt!
I think twaits carries one of these daily.
.44 Spl is a good defense round if you reload to 900 FPS + / the factory fodder offered these days is to mild, in my opinion ...
I have a 3" barrel Stainless Steel Taurus that I push hollow points through at about 975 FPS + that acts like a Baby Magnum
but YMMV ~

Congratulations, you are going to enjoy that CA. I don't think they are the junk that a lot of people do. That was a good price, the Silvertips should be good ammo. I KNOW you can (probably will)build a much nicer holster than the Uncle Mikes????? LOL
I for one would like a range report when you get a chance. I've use a light charge of Trailboss under a 429421 cast bullet that lets me hit a golf ball sized rock at 15 yards, using a current Bulldog, with boring regularity!

Fantastic deal!
Wyatt;
That's just like the one I carried for years. One of the guns I traded off and have regretted it ever since. Good price too IMO.
Great gun, what a deal!
Silvertip 44 Spls really expand well from a 3" bbl. The round is no slouch in the Silvertip loading don't let the low velocity fool you. A local woman here killed a whitetail with one shot to the head at 30ft with the same setup you have. The Buck dropped like a rock, wouldn't want to be sent to take that CA44 away from her.
Charter has made noises that they are going to retool and reissue the CA Bulldog 3". If they fix the cylinder stop I'll buy one.
Nice find, 215gr lswcs under some 231 shoot well in my experience through your Bulldog.
