I believe it is from 1981-82. It came with large rubber grips that did not fit my hand. After three years of searching I was able to find a service stock grip set (kyimpots.com). And boy is it great!
Alright I had to look. Only because this gun just HAD to be the snub version. I saw one for sale once. $495. I was broke. Damn!!
I have one just like it. Seems I just can't resist a nice snubbie, even if is isn't a D frame.
Detectives, and Cobras, and Agents
Oh My!
Actually I got an incredible deal from another LEO When his dept went to semi autos a 6"trooper and the 2"lawman for $500. The trooper was lost in a burglary but the lawman will be with me until they are shoveling dirt over me. I see you are in Sacramento. If you ever head down 99 maybe you can stop by Atwater and see the lawman in person
That is a nicely preserved piece. I do a kind of part changout customizing of D Frame Colts. I found that the D Frame Barrels with Shrouded ej rod, are compatible to the MK III Colts. They fit with little or no extra fitting. Barrels with the shroud are HD barrels ..357 dia. I have two in progress right now. The barrels have been cut from Police Positive Series four four inch, to 2 3/4 inch, mega ported and Tritium night sights ready for installation. Im sending the barrels to an engraver to erase police positive and replace it with Combat Colt. Both C's in the Serpentine style. Im thinking of Installing the barrels on The 2-Inch lawman frame. Ill post when im done. Im new here so if this info belongs somewhere else, I appreciate constructive criticisim. Im looking for a few D Frame Ajax Grips No 08 any color.
