    My Entire Semi-Auto Pistol Collection

Uh oh. There's no Colts here. Well anyway, not having been a big fan of them newfangled selfloaders, I've only picked up two that I really wanted and already owned two others. Ive had the little Italian made Beretta .25 and the 1934 Beretta .380 (vintage 1944) but recently picked up two must haves. A nickel S&W 39-2 (1979) and an Interarms Walther PPK/S .380 (1992 ). An old Colt Commander in Satin Nickel from the '70's would finish me up. But this is basically all I had a hankerin' for.

Looks like dandies which would be right at home if they were over here. I've only ever owned examples of the Walther. I've had 4 of those and they don't ever stick. For me they've proved to be unreliable in feeding/function. Despite this personal experience I intend to have another one day.

I like the other three as well, especially the old Beretta and the S&W. I'd love to add those too.

Don't know if I have photos of all the automatics around here. Mostly centered in Colts (1911, 1911A1-Remington Rand, Gold Cup, Model 1905, Model 1908 .25, and Woodsman with an Astra .25, F/N Hi-Power, and a Helfricht .25 thrown in for good measure.

Would love an early .38 Auto of some description along with either a Model 1903 .32 or a Model 1908 .380.

I freely confess that I have a much greater love for revolvers.

I have a 38 yr. old friend who's a former Ranger. There's a big age difference between us. He says revolvers are obsolete

I disagree. They are obsolete for miliary use, and I think they should be. But for civilians who are in nice heated dry homes and not stuck out in the field for weeks at a time, they are just as viable for self defense.

I probably have about 2 dozen revolvers and about the same number of semi autos. I like 'em all.

Wyatt, your semi-auto collection looks alot like mine in terms of numbers. While I've owned quite a few over the years, I've always ended up trading them off for revolvers or long-guns. For some reason, auto-loaders just don't do it for me. Nothing wrong with 'em, just my preferences are elsewhere.

I sold my Colt Police Positive Special to buy the walther and have no regrets. But the good part about selling it was when I met the buyer at the gunshop. He was in his early 30's and I told him how refreshing it was to see a younger guy into classic revolvers. He also had a 8" Python that he hasn't shot yet. My son isn't into guns like I am but did buy a revolver. A S&W 442 .38 Special.

    That is nice.

My friend is also into internet gaming and reality TV shows. I abhor all reality TV shows, even if they are about firearms.
Why does a person want to watch 13 installments of Ice Road Truckers or even Sons of Guns when a 1 or 2 hr. documentary could cover it? I'm too old to be interested in computer games, too. I'm getting to be an old fart!
I know, each to his own......

Back on track. I think you know I'm a Walther PPK guy. I've got 5 of them. No .25s. It's one caliber that never interested me.
I have a 1953 Beretta Mod 948 in 22lr that looks exactly like the .380 Beretta Mod 1934 you have. Since I had an extra mag, I took off the steel finger extension on the magazine floorplate for the times I ocassionally carry it.

    Don't feel like the Lone Ranger Wyatt. I think I have 5 and nary a one is a Colt. 1 .380, 1 .40, 1 9mm and 2 1911A1 45's. All of em serve a purpose I reckon though I'm not into bottom feeders like I was 20 years ago.
