Colt Bisley just came out of the closet after 70 years

This belonged to my wife's grandfather..Would someone give me a range of the value of this gun.
All the #'s match up and I believe it to be all original. Real tight..Trigger and hammer work perfect..Pull the hammer back and it sounds awesome..serial # 2504## ..45 Colt

Is the left side of the barrel marked "Bisley Model"?? It was made 1904. Value Hmmmmmm I would guess $1800 to $2300 perhaps. Personaly I like Bisleys (have 5) but they do not bring the money that SA's do. .45 is a good cal to have one in.

So thats my best guess not knowing what the bore is like.

Since no one else has replied lets bump this back to the top!! The $1800 to $2300 price was a "Selling" price range. With a letter from Colt it could push the price upwards. A Bisley sent to the Copper Queen Minning Co. could bring $5000 to $10,000. As a family "Keepsake" the value would be priceless. Insurance value should be around $2800 to $3500 perhaps..

Again is the barrel marked "Bisley Model"?

If it was mine it would be priceless. Personaly I would not sell it at any price.

Its marked (Bisley Model) 45 Colt on the left side of barrel. The bore looks good. Does not appear to be shot much.
    Thanks for your replies.

I think the price range quoted may be a little high. The filed down front sight will affect value. That, combined with the lack of finish suggests to me that the price would be around $1,500 or maybe a little less. However, I think it's a neat piece, and if it were my family heirloom, I would consider it priceless.

I'm a bit late on this thread, but if it were mine & a family heirloom it simply would not be for sale Period.
The serial # is in the smokeless era so I'd shoot it too. The gun & holster would stay in my family.
    Thanks for sharing.
