My new Baby. 45LC 4 3/4 blackpowder frame

This just joined the corral. I got started on Colts and other single actions this year when I was looking for something like this one. I finally got the call this one walked in the door. I wasn't particularly looking for a blackpowder frame at the time. I'm considering that a bonus! birthdate 2006 unturned.
My first picture posting . apologize for the quality. in a hurry to get something posted and blackberry may not be the best camera. The forum tutorial was extremely helpful. any tips, hints and friendly advice is appreciated.
Addendum: that is Bounty paper towels underneath. The quicker picker upper.

It just looks cleaner, cooler, and more old west authentic with the blackpowder frame. When I watch westerns, like Open Range comes to mind, I see the guys shooting "Colts" with the later cross button set up and say, "Hey! That ain't right!" But even Sharon Stone had it right in The Quick And The Dead. I wish Colt would just put ".45 Colt" on their barrels there, though. You did really good. That's a great looking gun.

I agree that the blackpowder frame looks cooler. Now I have to pop the Open Range dvd in when the boys get to bed and look at the shootout scenes again for the cross button Colts. I went back to the local dealer today to look at the other blued 45 colt that is 5.5 inch barreled. It is blackpowder framed too! all the rest of the other colts in all the calibers in the store are cross button. The price was more than just a couple hundred more than what I paid for the P2840. It must be a true NIB. mine was a LNIB trade-in from the day before I believe. They include tax in the price but still high. There is virtually no new Colt SAA's in Eastern NC to be found. don't know about the rest of the country. I'm watching GB for a longer barreled friend for this one.

    Wyatt,

To replicate original or early 45 Colt Black Powder Frame SAA, what markings, options are available from Colt Custom Shop?
    Thanks,
    greyman
