I've always considered the stub model 19 a symetrically perfect looking gun. And it's super practical, too. I have a 3" Model 13 .357 and it's a great travelin'/camping gun. But I like your's a little better.
Went the local gun shop this morning for some primers.
There was a poor little Smith model 19-6 on the counter. It looked very lonely.
Some lout who didn`t appreciate it had just traded it off.
Always had a soft spot for stray cats and stray guns, so I decided to give it a new home.
(going to have to be careful, the Smith collection is starting to catch up with the Colt collection)

Wisdom does not come with age. It`s just that as you get older you become less physically capable of acting stupid.

Mike,
I have an orphan that I adopted also. It came with the original stocks numbered to the gun. I replaced the stocks, and added an extension. Mine is a 19-3, what a sweet piece. Merry Christmas.

Nice!
My 2nd gun was an S&W Mod 19-3 2 1/2" bbl. I bought it at the beginning of the TMI meltdown when there was some talk of making us evacuate central PA.
My first gun was an early Walther PP 7.65mm that I foolishly had refinished, only to find many years later it was a rare variation.

I'm not intending to **** on Mike1957s parade but I also have a mod 13-2 and I think it's the finest short barreled .357 mag S&W ever made with the cleanest lines. It has by far the best DA trigger pull of any revolver I've owned. Everything you need and nothing you don't. I still have that one.
The 2 1/2" bbl. Mod 19 may be cooler looking, though.
the 19 snubbie is the meanest looking snubbie ever,by the way if your smith collection is catching up to your colt collection,i have a suggestion
for you..........more colts!
I love the M19. A true classic S&W
I carried a 2.5 inck mdl 19 as a detective for years, and never felt undergunned. Bad guys always thought it was mean looking. I recently went through the original box from 1978 and found the receipt-I paid $145 for that gun brand new from a police supply house in N.C.
I like the 19, owned several over the years...Adjustable sights on a 2 inch belly gun seems bulky to me...BUT those 3" Heavey Barrel model 13's...are still sexy!

My first duty gun when I began my career was a POW 2 1/2" stainless brother to the 19. ...the 66! Carried it for a couple of years until we went to semis. Coolness just oozes from that design. That, and my '67 Detective Special, are my absolute favorite revolvers. My son is already onboard with the fact that they are to remain in the family indefinitely long after I'm gone. (Not that I planning on kickin' the bucket anytime soon. Just hedgin'. That's all.)
