Hi. If you see an aftermarket sight on a revolver than that is just how we received it. We have thousands of Factory parts for all the revolvers which we don't even show for sale. As a Guns shop we are continuously getting revolvers with broken parts on them. We have been in Montana for over 10 years with a wonderful staff and great customer service.

We do get a tremendous amount of requests to outfit restorations with New grips and paperwork to simulate the Factory New appearance. We find a lot of Colts are family heirlooms and customers are not trying to pass the gun off as original but make it look like it did when it was first manufactured. We are very proud in each and every job to restore the Legacy of these revolvers.
I noticed that none of your offerings mention either "original", "reproduction" or "refinished". Wouldn't it be appropriate to make that distinction?

For example: The description of the gun in the link below doesn't tell you anything about the actual gun, it's just a generic blurb about Pythons in general. So is it in mint original condition with original paperwork, or is it a restored gun with reproduction paperwork?

This reminds me of a certain dealer who joined this site to defend himself due to selling fake Colt packages. Of course, he entered in a completely different context by insulting everyone from the start, but the premise is the same. Everyone quickly pointed out all of his 'less than honest' or 'down right deceptive' selling methods. It was only a matter of a week before he publicly changed his tune, played the 'me no know better' excuse, apologized, and is now considered by many to be a 'reputable' guy to do business with and of 'expert' level status.

I suspect this scenario will turn out much the same, when it shouldn't, because you can't undo all the things that have been done in that past, and are still occurring. There is a reason these guys have been on the "don't do business with list" for the past few years. The flaky, refreshed guns advertised as 'like new' with no mention of how they got that way are a big factor. All I see are countless ruined factory finishes done for an attempt at lucrative profits. YMMV.

    Welcome to the forum though!

Still looking for a reply to my question about the roll marks and stampings. What methods do you use to restore them if needed on a restoration?
