I'll list a NIB Nickel with Factory Letter for your viewing pleasure. Not sure I can give it away because those pesky folks at Pacific went and butched it up but the price tag will not be for the faint of heart....Or Bank Account.

It's not that difficult of a modification. Someone help!
EBR in thousand oaks has you covered.

Seems like a pretty cool Python with an interesting history/story. If you like it go ahead and get it.

I am familiar with them, however, I was not aware they dealt in used guns. I will give them a call

Instead of paying all this money for any Python, why not buy an 8" Python or what ever size you want and have the barrel shortened to 3". It will cost you less and you have your own custom 3" Python. I have an 8" barrel and have the guy that will do it. I know I can at least get two 3" barrels out of that. If I find a shooter Python for short money I will convert one to 3" as a shooter and a defense gun. Without ruining the original barrel of course so It can be replaced back if need be. You can eve send it to Colt and have them shorten it and get a letter while it is being done. Then it will letter up and documented as such and it will be a Custom gun from Colt. Then you can sell it for 10G.

I'm no expert, but I think that gun would be a great add to a collection.... but not at that price.

    Good luck!

I've thought of doing this to my 4" Python if I could find someone who knows what they are doing. However, after speaking with gunsmith Jim Hogue, he stated that it's not as easy as it may sound to cut down an 8" Colt Python barrel to 3" and finish the muzzle in a professional manner and fit a front sight. He said the threaded side must be used because it's much easier to finish the muzzle end than to try and cut threads in a barrel to mate up to an existing Python, that would cost too much. I'm still looking for a 3" barrel in good condition that I can put on my 4" and use as a shooter.
