    Silver coated laser bullets

does anyone have any experience with these bullets? They are marked "LASER CAST " bullets by Oregon trail and are guaranteed not to lead barrel and are supposed to have silver in them They are also supposed to be the "most accurate" bullets made. They are 48$ for 500.
I am thinking of trying some of their 125grain fp in 38 caliber

That's all I use. However I use the 158 Gr. RNFP. Very accurate with the right powder combination and clean up is an ease. I also use their Gas Check 170 gr. bullets in my 30-30 and my favorite is their 200 gr. 44-40 rnfp sized .428.

But don't take my word for it...I have only been using them for about 30 years now.

I used them quite a bit and found them to be good bullets. Honestly I'm not sure why I don't use them exclusively, since they're only $8 more than the other, softer, bullets I sometimes use. They do cut down on the leading significantly from the cheaper stuff I buy from time-to-time.

I noticed they are .358" in diameter (a thousanths more than my usual jacketed bullets). Is that normal for this type bullet? Also I dont find any loading data for this type bullet. Would you use same loads as for plain lead bullets?? Or would the loadings be more in line with jacketed bullets of the same weight?

Follow your recommended data, or call Laser-Cast and they will send you loading data for the bullets in Question. They do recommend Load Data site for all Commercial Powder manufactures.

Not to worry about the size, IT will not harm your revolver as the lead is softer than the steel; even though they are harder than most lead bullets.

Cast bullets must be oversized because they are softer than copper jacketing. Nearly all 38/357 cast bullets are .358, that is the standard. There is nothing super special about these Laser cast bullet, they are not silver coated, there is merely a tiny bit of silver (supposedly) in the alloy. Treat them as standard cast bullets and use appropriate load data. I would also recommend doing some research on using cast bullets if you are new to them.

So, with just a tiny bit of silver in the alloy, they aren't recommended against werewolves?

Haha I guess it's better than nothing! A 357 or 44 laser-cast through the werewolf should at least slow him down.

Capstan, I use Lazer-cast too, they are very good bullets. I've used for several years now & think they are great.
