Thats a great shooter, especially for a semi auto. congrats. Its great to have a fine Colt that shoots a tight group.
Of all the Colt's auto's that I own, there is one that is different than the other's, I bough her back in '91 brand new and I probably paid too much for it, especially for a plain jane pistol, no bright bluing,no thrill or even stainless steel, I was on active duty back then and was working as an advanced pistol instructor, when I had left over ammo after a class, (all the time), I used her to burn the ammo, ball or silvertip (the marines bought a ton of 45 silvertip to reduce the bullet splatter when shooting pepper poppers) this colt shot it all without any malfunctions, none.
I took her to the indoor range a few weeks ago along with other pistols, this range is not the best when it comes to illumination and the only targets that I could buy had red centers, I have a difficult time aiming on red under those conditions but what the heck.
Since this Colt happens to be an officers model with the short barrel, I limited my shooting with her at 15 yards, a realistic distance for this type of weapon, I was using winchester white box 230gr ball, plain jane ammo and I was using the weaver stance, no support, 7 rounds slow fire.
It was just one of those targets you want to save (and brag..)
But it was the pistol that did it, even colts plain jane model can out shoot most pistols.
This is why she is my favorite.
One got away from me!
